Category:Medium-carb diet cases
From Diabetes in Pets
Though a low-carb diet is recommended for diabetic cats (and most cats, really), it's not species-appropriate for dogs. Dogs are instead usually recommended a medium-carb diet with carefully controlled mealtimes and amounts.
Some cats, due to complications such as kidney failure or pancreatitis, must also remain on a medium-carb diet.
Also, some cats have been at some point after diagnosis on a diet higher in carbohydrates than the recommended Low-carb diet. Those cases are included here too: by examining these cases and seeing their results on both diets, it may be possible to discern the effect of carbohydrate levels in diabetic cats.
