Nausea
From Diabetes in Pets
Nausea is a common symptom of many different health problems -- it is a signal from the brain that you may have just eaten something unhealthy. Cats may indicate nausea with frequent lip-smacking or lip-licking, with excessive drooling or salivating, and with inappetance or sometimes with vomiting.
Possible conditions to watch for in nauseous cats and dogs include:
- Dental infection
- Mouth Ulcers
- Overeating or eating too fast
- Chronic renal failure
- Gastrointestinal Disorders[1] including Inflammatory Bowel Disorder[2]
- Ingestion of noxious or toxic substances[3]
- Fatty liver disease in cats
- Stress
